Barn Owl
Hi, I'm Mrs Gravenor and I am the teacher in Barn Owl Class and I lead our student teachers. I cannot wait to see what adventures we will have together this year.
This is my 6th year at St John's and I have taught across the Early years, KS1 and KS2. I love being creative with lessons and following our own interests as individuals to inspire our learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son exploring Kent and singing at my church.
In our class we are also very lucky to have Mrs Cook and Mrs Bell.
Important dates for the diary

Our learning this term
This term we are going to be focusing on 'Me, Myself' and I'. We will be exploring more about ourselves and how we can gather, grow and go together as a Barn Owl team.
Be ready for learning! In Barn Owl class your child will need to have these items in school:
-
Book bag (no rucksacks please)
-
PE kit (to be worn on PE day)
-
Water bottle (no squash or juice)
-
Lunchbox (if not having school meal)
-
Wellington boots (to leave in school)
-
Coat (weather appropriate)
-
Slippers (to leave in school)
Highlights of our learning so far:
We have really got stuck in exploring lots of different things with our senses. We love getting messy and making wonderful creations.
In terms 1 and 2 Barn Owl class have built some wonderful relationships and loved our baking sessions on Fridays. In Term 2 we worked together to build a den in the Secret Garden using only tyres! We then used our den as an outdoor classroom for some of our English lessons. We have found our individual workstations really helpful and love to complete our independent work here.
During our Thursday projects one of our team designed an assault course and helped us to develop our teamwork.
